Ochre

One-time purchase

An invoicing app you can buy once.

Ochre sells Lifetime, a one-time purchase, next to its monthly and yearly plans. One plan covers every business you run and every iPhone, iPad and Mac on your Apple Account, whichever way you pay.

The three ways to pay

PlanUS priceRenews?7-day free trial?
Monthly$11.99 a monthYes, until you cancelYes
Yearly$99.99 a yearYes, until you cancelYes
Lifetime$299.99, onceNoNo

These are US prices. The App Store sets the price in your own currency, so what you see at checkout may differ.

What the trial covers

The 7-day free trial is Apple’s introductory offer, and Apple only offers one on an auto-renewing subscription. So it covers the monthly and yearly plans, and it does not cover Lifetime. A trial starts through Apple’s purchase sheet; nothing is charged for 7 days, and it renews into the plan you chose unless you cancel first.

Lifetime and the subscriptions, side by side

All three are the same Ochre Pro. One plan covers every business you run and every iPhone, iPad and Mac on your Apple Account. Ochre is never priced per device or per business, so Lifetime is not a single-device licence.

The arithmetic is simple. $299.99 is about 25 months of the monthly plan, or about three years of the yearly plan. If you expect to invoice for less than that, a subscription costs less. If you expect to invoice for longer, or you would rather not have a renewal to think about, Lifetime costs less over time.

What you keep if you stop

Everything you have already made stays yours. Open it, print it, email it, export it, back it up. If a subscription lapses with no active plan, the one thing Ochre holds back is issuing new documents. That is a deliberate design choice. A Lifetime purchase does not renew, so there is nothing to lapse.

Where Lifetime is not the right choice

If you want to try Ochre before paying anything, the free trial is on the subscriptions only. If you would rather spread the cost, or you may stop invoicing within a couple of years, monthly or yearly costs less than Lifetime. And Ochre runs on Apple devices only, so a one-time purchase does not change that. It is not an accounting package: no bank feeds, no automatic reconciliation and no payroll.

Other apps

We checked six other invoicing apps for a one-time purchase tier, on 2026-10-15, and none of the six sold one. The dated, sourced table is on One-time purchase invoicing apps for Mac. Prices and plans change, so check the app you are comparing before you decide.

Questions

Is there an invoicing app with no subscription?
Ochre sells a one-time Lifetime purchase alongside its monthly and yearly plans. It is $299.99 (US price) and does not renew.
Does the free trial apply to Lifetime?
No. The 7-day free trial is an Apple introductory offer on the auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so it has no trial.
What happens to my invoices if I stop paying?
Documents you have already made stay yours: open them, print them, email them, export them and back them up. If a subscription lapses, only issuing new documents waits for a plan. Lifetime has no renewal to lapse.
Does Lifetime cover every business and every device?
Yes. One Ochre Pro plan covers every business you run and every iPhone, iPad and Mac on your Apple Account, and that is true of Lifetime as it is of the subscriptions.
Where do I cancel a subscription?
In your Apple account, not inside Ochre. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. On a Mac, open the App Store, then your name, then Account Settings, then Subscriptions.
