Ochrequiet invoicing

Free tool

Know the real price before you check out.

Enter a price and a discount — stack a second discount and add tax if you need to. You get the sale price, how much you save, and the single effective discount rate, with the formula behind every number.

Nothing you type here ever leaves your browser. There's no server behind this page — every calculation runs locally on your device, the same local-first idea behind the Ochre app.

Markup vs. margin — a quick word

Stacking discounts is the most common way people misjudge a sale price: two 20% discounts feel like "40% off," but the second 20% is taken from a smaller number, so the true saving is 36%. If you want the reverse question answered — "what markup gets me to this sell price?" — see the markup calculator.

What this page cannot do

The discount matters after you have given it.

A sale price is easy to work out and easy to forget. What is harder is remembering, three months later, which client got which discount and what it cost you. Ochre has the same calculator inside the invoice, writing into the document’s totals — so the discount becomes part of the record rather than a number you did in your head.
