Ochrequiet invoicing

Free tool

A mileage claim, added up honestly.

Log your trips, enter the rate you're claiming, and get a clean total — with tiered rates, passenger add-ons, tolls and parking if you need them.

Ochre does not maintain mileage rates, and doesn't guess one for you. There is no live IRS, HMRC, CRA, ATO or any other official rate baked into this page — keeping a table like that accurate is a real, ongoing commitment we haven't taken on. Get the current rate from your own tax authority or your employer's policy and type it in below.

General arithmetic only, not tax or reimbursement advice. This tool doesn't know whether your trips qualify, or whether your employer or tax authority will accept the total — confirm that yourself before you submit a claim.

Units & rate

There is no official-rate lookup here — you're always entering your own figure. (A maintained-source mode could be added later if Ochre ever takes on keeping a live rates table; it doesn't exist today.)

Questions

Does Ochre know my country's official mileage rate?

No. Ochre does not maintain a live table of government or employer mileage rates, and keeping one accurate over time is a real ongoing job we haven't taken on. So this calculator never guesses a rate for you — you type in the rate you're claiming, from your own tax authority or employer policy, and the tool does the arithmetic from there.

What are tiered rates and when would I use them?

Some mileage schemes pay a higher rate for the first block of distance in a period and a lower rate after that. If your scheme works that way, turn on tiered rates, enter the threshold and the two rates, and the calculator applies them cumulatively across your trip rows in the order you've entered them.

Does this save my trips anywhere?

No — this page keeps everything in memory only, for as long as the tab stays open. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is written to local storage. Export the CSV or print your claim sheet before you close the tab or you'll lose your entries.

Is the total I get here guaranteed to match what my employer or tax authority will accept?

No. This tool only does the arithmetic on the numbers you enter — it doesn't know your jurisdiction's rules, your employer's policy, or whether your trips qualify as deductible or reimbursable. Confirm eligibility and rates with your own tax authority, accountant, or employer before you rely on this for a real claim.

What this page cannot do

The number is easy. The record is the work.

Working out what a journey is worth takes a second; keeping a year of them straight is the actual job. Ochre has no mileage feature, and will not pretend to — what it keeps is the record either side of the sum: bill it as a line on an invoice, or file it as an expense with a category, a vendor and a photo of the receipt, on your own device and in your own backup.
