Ochre

For tradespeople

Quotes and invoices for Hardscape & Paver Installation.

Priced options, a typed-name acceptance, a deposit before the job starts, and a finished PDF that carries the job's own photos and address.

The quote

Picture a paver patio with a fire pit offered as an optional line. That's an ordinary hardscape & paver installation quote.

Pick Hardscape & Paver Installation during setup and Ochre starts your item list from a 8-item catalogue built for the trade — Paver patio installation, Paver driveway installation, Excavation and base preparation, among others — the document prints as “Quote” rather than “Quotation,” and default terms are filled in so you are not typing them from scratch.

More than one option

A hardscape & paver installation quote rarely has one right answer. Add an option and Ochre creates a sibling quotation — same customer, its own lines and price — so you can send one covering paver patio installation, a second that also covers retaining wall, and a third that adds fire pit installation, side by side until the customer picks one.

The customer accepts by typing their name and tapping Accept — no drawing, no separate app — or declines with a reason. Accepting one option voids the others automatically, each marked with why. For a quote sent as a PDF, you can mark it accepted yourself once the customer agrees another way — visibly a business note, never confused with the customer's own tap.

A deposit before the job starts

30% is a common starting point for this trade, but the figure is yours to set on every quote. Set a deposit on the quote as a percentage or a fixed amount; entering one clears the other. Once it's recorded, the same credit carries onto the invoice if the quote is accepted and converted — nothing entered twice.

Sections and optional lines

A multi-part job hides more in a single flat total than it shows. Group the lines into sections and each gets its own subtotal on the paper — “Patio” (Excavation and base preparation, Paver patio installation) and “Extras” (Fire pit installation, Seat wall), for instance — with one total underneath.

A line can also be optional: it prints at its price but does not count toward any total until ticked. “Fire pit installation” is a natural one to leave optional here — the customer sees it, and only pays for it if they want it.

Photos and the job site

Attach photos to the document and they print as a strip on the finished PDF — before shots, a damaged section, whatever the quote needs to show. Add the job's own address once and it prints separately from the billing address, for when the person paying and the property being worked on are not the same place.

What Ochre doesn't do

Ochre does not schedule the job, chase the lead, or manage the customer relationship before a quote exists. It starts once there is a job to price: the quote, the options, the acceptance, the deposit, the invoice, and the record of what was paid.

Questions

Does Ochre have a quote template for hardscape & paver installation?
Pick Hardscape & Paver Installation during setup and Ochre starts your item list from a 8-item catalogue built for the trade, and prints the document as “Quote” instead of “Quotation.”
Can I send more than one price option on the same quote?
Yes. Add an option and a sibling quotation is created with its own lines and price. Accepting one automatically voids the others, each marked with a reason.
How does a deposit work?
You set a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount on the quote. Once it is recorded, the same credit carries onto the invoice if the quote is accepted and converted.
