Anything your milestones don't account for is shown below, so a schedule that doesn't add up tells you rather than quietly rounding itself full.

This tool prints a clean estimate for your client to sign — that's genuinely useful, and it's free.

What it can't do: turn an accepted estimate into a numbered invoice, keep the two documents linked, or chase the balance once the deposit lands. That hand-off — approve the quotation, convert it to a draft invoice at the prices you agreed, with the history intact — is what the Ochre app is for.

    Can I use this as a legal contract?
    No. This tool prints a clean estimate with a signature line, a printed-name line and a date line for on-page acceptance — that is not a legally binding e-signature service. If you need a document that holds up as a signed contract, use a proper e-signature tool, or attach your own signed terms to what you print here.
    What's the difference between an estimate and a quote?
    Nothing meaningful for how you'd use one — this generator covers what's often called a quote or a proposal too: a price you send before work starts, with an expiry date so it can't be accepted six months later at last year's costs.
    Can I turn an estimate into an invoice later?
    Not in the free tools — each generator here makes a stand-alone document with no memory of the others. In Ochre, approving a quotation lets you convert it into a draft invoice at the agreed prices; the quotation stays as the record of what was quoted.
    How does the deposit and payment schedule work?
    Set a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount — the balance is calculated automatically. Beyond that, add as many payment-schedule milestones as you need (a percentage or a fixed amount each); the amounts are worked out so they add up exactly to the total, down to the last cent.

    What this page cannot do

    An estimate is only half the job.

    The other half is what happens when the client says yes. This page can print the document; it cannot carry it forward — you would retype every line into an invoice. Ochre converts an approved quotation into a draft invoice at the prices you agreed, keeps the two linked, and moves any deposit across with it.
